Hoop Dancing thru the Euro-American Education System. Franci L. Taylor (Choctaw) has worked in Indian Education for over 20 years. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in commercial and fine art, a bachelor of Science in Anthropology and Sociology and a Masters of Arts in Native Americna Sudies with a focus on American Indian Higher Education (retention and recruitment) ethnobotany and linguists. She is currently finishing her PhD. at the University of Leiden in the Netherlands (Holland) in Tribally Controlled Cultural Heritage and Resource Management. She is also a traditional dancer, quill and bead worker, and participates in her traditional ceremonies and community functions.

Learning Lakota through Cancega (Drum): The Heartbeat of Lakota, the Heartbeat of Uncimaka. Chris Eagle Hawk "Maka Sitomniya Honahunpi" will demonstrate health living through tradition.

"The Death of Raymond Yellow Thunder," by Stew Magnusson chronicles the violent death of Raymond Yellow Thunder in Gordon, NE, as well as various other racially motivated incidents in South Dakota Reservation border towns. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Woksape Tipi is proud to host its first Tribal Presidential and Vice Presidential Debate. Also included are State House District 27 candidates of all political parties. A dinner will be provided for everyone at 5:00 p.m., and a town hall discussion will take place from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. in which community members can ask the candidates questions.
