Early Pine Ridge Census Lists

The following Pine Ridge Indian Reservation census information was taken from three different sources: an 1874 census found on microfilm from the National Archives in the OLC archives collection, the 1876-77 Crazy Horse Surrender Ledger, and an 1879 Annuity book in the OLC archives collection. The names from these records were entered into an Microsoft ACCESS database then sorted first by band then by Head of Household name. While every effort was made to ensure proper spelling, human error does occur and there may be misspellings in these transcriptions. When the original document was to difficult to read a question mark (?) was used to signify the lack of clarity.
